A nostalgic collection of 36 primitive railway stamp designs spread across four coordinated sheets, inspired by old country stations, steam trains, railway labels and the romance of travelling somewhere by rail. The collection journeys from bustling platforms and station clocks to parcels, luggage, goods sheds, signal boxes, bridges, tunnels and quiet country lines before finishing aboard the atmospheric night train beneath moons and stars. Hand-drawn phrases including All Aboard, Ticket Please, Railway Goods, Full Steam Ahead, Last Train Home, Night Express and Homeward Bound sit alongside more peculiar little discoveries such as The 8:15 Is Late Again, Bound for Somewhere and The Train to Somewhere. Scratchy black ink, cross-hatching, stippling, distressed borders and old-fashioned typography give every design the character of a well-worn railway label or vintage printed stamp. With 36 individual designs covering railway stations, goods and parcels, countryside railways and night travel, this characterful collection is ideal for junk journals, scrapbooking, altered books, collage, card making, travel journals, tags and vintage-inspired paper crafts.
